Kids with Special Needs
Accessibility is at the center of our programs. Cross-country skiing can help support balance and spatial awareness development, and offer a way for youth of varying abilities to connect to the outdoors. When possible we make modifications and accommodations to meet the unique needs of a child. As a caregiver, you know your child best, so we encourage you to share any information with us that can help us provide your child with a safe and enjoyable experience in our clubs.
To better support families, we’ve added a few short questions to our registration process, developed with input from a registered nurse. These questions help us understand your child’s needs, safety considerations, and the best ways we can work together to ensure a positive experience.

Special Needs Policy
MyXC is committed to working with families to create positive, empowering experiences so that every child can build confidence, community, and joy in winter.
If your child has physical, cognitive, behavioral, or emotional needs that require additional assistance, a parent, caregiver, or support person may need to be present during programming. This can be determined by speaking with your child’s doctor or by connecting with a MyXC staff member. We’re here to help navigate what’s best for your family.
Please note: families are responsible for providing any one-on-one support their child may need. MyXC volunteer coaches are not trained to provide individualized care and are not liable for any incidents related to specialized needs.
Thank you for helping us empower youth to be joyful, confident winter enthusiasts by building inclusive communities that reduce barriers to cross-country skiing.
