The Best and Biggest Swap for Used and New, Youth, Junior and Adult Equipment!

 
The Minnesota Youth Ski League (MyXC) is pleased to host this big event, open to the entire public. The sale is being held as a fundraiser and provides skiers, of all sizes and ages, the opportunity to sell outgrown and little used equipment and clothing, while finding some of the best deals around on new and used equipment.

The following merchandise is considered appropriate for this sale:
  • cross-country skis, boots, bindings and poles (current binding systems only unless on wooden skis)
  • ski specific clothing
  • roller skis
  • waxing irons, benches and other waxing paraphenalia
  • Please NO backcountry, downhill or snowboard equipment
How to Sell:
  • Consider attending the Pre-sell event on November 5th if you have NNN Youth equipment to sell. We will buy your equipment and give you a check on the spot.
  • Swap sellers should pre-register. If you do not pre-register, you will be charged a $1 per item drop-off fee. 
    • ​Step 1: Clean your closets and garage and figure out what you want to sell. Kids should try on boots. See our sizing recommendations. Clean equipment (no kick wax or mud).
    • Step 2: Fill out the Seller Registration from and then we will send you the item intake spreadsheet. 
    • Suggested Youth Equipment Sale Pricing. Send pictures to Amy if you need pricing advice.
    • Step 3: Return the filled in spreadsheet to amy@mysl.org by Wednesday midnight. There is also a google sheet option. 
    • Step 4: It is very important to indicate whether or not your unsold items will be donated to MyXC. You can indicate this item by item.
    • Step 5: Bring equipment for drop off to Base Camp on Friday 5-7pm. Note, there is NO Saturday dropoff. 
    • Step 6: If you have equipment that you want back if it does not sell. It must be picked up Saturday 2:00 -2:45pm. We will record the items that you retrieve. Note that this is a short window and we encourage you to donate unsold items to expedite our clean up process.
    • Step 7: We will mail proceed checks and a report within ten days. We will NOT be issuing checks the day of the sale. MyXC retains 20% of the price of sold items.
  • Tips on selling high end skis ($100+).  
    • Skis must be clean of all kick and glide wax.  
    • Skis with bindings sell better.
    • A piece of tape with the flex range (or your body weight) is very helpful.
  • About Pilot boots and skis
    • The SNS Pilot binding system is phased out. You can attempt to sell Pilot items cheaply, but you are required to donate them if they they don't sell. We will attempt to find a high school team that will take this equipment.
 

 
Pre-Sell Event for Youth NNN Equipment:
There is NO shopping during this event. This is an opportunity for you to SELL youth equipment to MyXC.

MyXC will buy these items from the public:
  • Fishscale skis 90 - 180cm with NNN bindings
  • Poles 80-160cm
  • NNN/Prolink boots size 27 - 42 classic or 35 - 38 combi
  • To be eligible for purchase all items must be clean, undamaged and less than eight years old.

If you have items outside of these parameters you have two options:
 1. Donate them to MyXC
 2. Register them to sell at the Swap

 

How to Donate Equipment: 
  • Drop off items
    • At the MyXC Warehouse on Saturday November 5th 11am-1pm
    • At Base Camp on Friday November 11th from 5-7pm 
    • At Base Camp on Saturday November 12th 7:30 - 8:30am
 
How to Buy: 
  • We will be following COVID guidelines as per Base Camp and MDH regulations
    • We will have a ticket lottery and require the purchase of a timed ticket ($3.00 per person) that includes attendee names
    • We ask that only people shopping for equipment or paying attend. Please do not bring other family members
    • If you or anyone in your household is sick, you must not attend

  • Do some homework, please
    • We will be posting "How-to-Shop" videos before the swap
    • Know the height, weight and shoe size of those you are shopping for (even if they are there)
    • Print and/or study our sizing guide
    • If you are a junior skier trying to match a binding type, please bring a picture of the boot bottom or binding you are trying to match
    • If you are a junior skier, talk to your ski coach about what they want you to buy 
  • ​Please pay by check (helps us save on processing fees) or credit card
  • MYXC MEMBERS ONLY: Pre-request of Youth Classic Packages 
    • This option is available for fish scale or skin classic skis/boots/poles only. FULL PACKAGES ONLY (unless too young for poles; age 4-5)
      • For skiers that are at or under these three metrics:
        • 5 feet tall
        • 110lbs
        • Size 41 boot (men's 8, women's 9)
      • Request via Google Form ahead of time. 
        • We will email you by Thursday night if we can fulfill your request
        • We will have your order ready inside the building (you will need a ticket to get in)
        • All orders will include a Willow Wrap all-in-one ski and pole tie for an additional $10. This helps us organize the orders. 
        • We would like to limit boot try-ons/exchanges, so please be careful when filling out the form

  • Ticket Sales for Swap Entry 
    • There will be a ticket lottery (Lottery sign up will be Friday October 28 - Thursday Nov 3rd).
    • One person PER FAMILY should fill out the lottery form 
    • On Nov 4th, you will be given a password to buy tickets. Tickets are $3.00 per person. Everyone needs a ticket for contact tracing. 
    • On Monday Nov 7th the remaining tickets will go on Sale. Check back here and on Facebook for the status of ticket sales.
    • You will purchase a ticket for an exact time and we will do our best to stay on schedule (pending building capacity limits)
    • Swap hours are 9am - 1:00pm 
    • NOTE: If you are shopping for a team (multiple kids that are not related to you), we ask that you do not enter until one hour before the end of the sale.
    • At the swap, please pay by check (helps us save on processing fees) or credit card

2:00-2:45 Seller pickup of unsold equipment. Unclaimed items are donated to MyXC.
