  • There is parking at the Chalet. If the Chalet lots are full, you can park at the Elm Creek Swim Pond parking lot and take the shuttle to the Chalet. Plan on arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your start time.
  • Map of Elm Creek

Levels 2 - 6: 2:00 PM

Level 1: 2:30 PM

**This event had to be rescheduled due to the rain today (3/5) and is now scheduled for tomorrow 3/6. We apologize for the change.**

This season has flown by. We've had so much fun watching the skiers develop their skills and are so appreciative of our volunteers who helped make it all happen. Since many people are unable to make the last ski session today 2/26, we'd like to invite you all to come to the Pond Area in Elm Creek on Sun, March 6 at 2 pm. This will be a fun time to recognize our coaches and other key volunteers, present K pins to the skiers who earned them, and return equipment, bibs, etc. There will be a table set up with a hot beverage and snacks as well. It will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately and bring your own chairs if you want them.

If you haven't completed the K-counter for your skier and would like to participate, please enter your skier's kilometers as soon as you can. Any skier that goes 25K or more by March 6 will receive a K pin. Here are the K counter instructions. You can count the distance that your skier completed during the Sat sessions as well. Here is the weekly distance estimate for each level:

Level 1: 1 K/week

Level 2: 2K/week

Level 3: 2-3K/week

Level 4: 4K/week

Levels 5 and 6: 5K/week

For those who are renting ski equipment, you can return it on March 5 or arrange another day to drop it off with Lexie.

Please text or call Lexie at 763-447-5135 with questions or if you'd like to help out by bringing a snack or have other ideas to help with the March 5 celebration.

Thank you!!

Lexie and Laura

UPDATE: 1/1 Session is Canceled

The first session on January 1 has been canceled due to sub-zero temperatures. Our first session will now be on January 8. We will meet every Saturday through February 26.

Ski For Fun Packet Pick Up

When: Saturday, December 18th from 2 - 3 pm

Where: Elm Creek Swimming Pond

WE will provide skiers with an individual ski bib, hat for new members, and some other additional goodies. You will also have the opportunity to meet the club leaders, ask questions, and meet other participants and coaches. We will have a table set up and should be easy to identify in the parking lot of the Elm Creek Swimming Pond.

Weather and cancellation policy

We will not ski if the air temperature is below -2˚ F or the wind chill is below -10˚ F, or at the leader’s discretion. Because the little kids ski out in the open, wind is a big factor at Elm Creek. Always check the website or email with questions. Cancellations will be posted on this Web page as well as the MYSL - Elm Creek SkiSparks Facebook page.

"There is no bad weather, just bad clothing"

Children should be dressed in layers. A moisture wicking under layer, an insulating layer, and a wind proof layer are typically appropriate. Please use your discretion noting your child’s activity level and the outside temperature/wind chill. Often a winter jacket and snow pants or a snowsuit can be too warm once the child gets skiing unless they are young and in the beginner group. “Wool is wonderful. Cotton is rotten!”

Equipment and Passes

This is our first year doing rentals through our club, so there will be very limited sets of classic skis to rent as part of the registration. It is first come, first serve and costs $50 for the season. Another option is Elm Creek, which has rentals available at the Chalet.  Children skiing in level 5 or above should have their own skate skis, boots, and poles. In addition, for children skiing at level 4 or above, waxable classic skis are highly recommended. The cost for children's rentals is $7 each week for Youth Classic skis.

Trail Passes are not required for children 11 years old and younger. Ages 12 and up (skiing parents/coaches as well) need to purchase passes. Daily $9 or seasonal $75 for the first in the household ($37.50 each additional). The annual passes are good at ALL Three Rivers parks ski trails.

This is a volunteer run club. The success and affordability of this program comes directly from your contributions of time, energy, and talent. By registering for this club, you are committing to the club’s success and are agreeing to volunteer.

Level 1 skiers will need to be accompanied by an adult. Coaching at level 1 is a great way to accompany your child. We are also in very great need of coaches for all levels 1-6. Please consider coaching as it is our number one need! You do not necessarily need to coach at your child’s level.

Following are some suggested areas of volunteer service:

We really need your help! This is our biggest need and is one of the most rewarding ways in which you can help the club. Kids get more out of the program when the coach-to-kid ratio is low, and coaches need not be experienced skiers to volunteer. The MYSL program makes it easy for a coach to know what to do. An eight week curriculum has been prepared for every class level and each day's lesson is available on the MYSL Coaching App that you can use on your phone. The coaching app also provides many helpful tips and games to keep classes enjoyable and interesting. You do not have to be an elite level skier to be a coach. All you need is a desire to help kids and have fun. Contact us at to sign up or register here as a volunteer for Elm Creek Saturday.

Junior Coaches:

High-school aged skiers, we need you! We rely heavily on high school volunteers, who are fun, friendly and in far better shape than most of us. Coaching for Elm Creek MYSL qualifies as a service commitment for NHS. Think about how great this will look on a college application! Assistant and Sub Coaches:

As an assistant coach, you can support a coach by accompanying the group on the trails and helping skiers (sometimes known as “Sweepers”). If you feel like your skiing level is at the same level as the level your kids are signed up for, you would be a fantastic assistant coach! You are not in charge of the instruction, rather you are there to make sure the kids are safe, have an adult to bring them to the bathroom, and can assist with activities.

If you are a sub coach, you can fill in when a coach isn’t able to make it to ski club.
