From Newcomer to Volunteer

When she and her husband moved to Minnesota more than 20 years ago, snow and cold temperatures were completely unfamiliar. “Before moving here, we had never experienced snow,” she shared. Winter felt overwhelming at first, and spending time outside in the cold seemed impossible.

From MyXC Skier to MyXC Coach

When Claudia King first joined MyXC at 13 years old, she had never cross-country skied before. "My first year was rocky," she admits. But she came back.

One Hill at a Time

For Jill Somero, one of the greatest rewards of coaching isn't teaching kids how to ski. It's watching them discover they can do hard things. Every winter at Elm Creek, there's at least one child who stands at the bottom of a hill convinced they can't make it to the top.
